Biography
Carrie Phillips Kieser is a print media artist living and working in Nova Scotia, Canada. She holds an MFA from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design , Halifax Nova Scotia , a Bachelor of Arts Degree with distinction from Mount Allison University, New Brunswick, Canada and has studied Art History at UCLA, USA. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. Between the years of 2014 and 2018 she was the Executive Director of Alberta Printmakers (A/P), a non-profit & artist-run centre in Calgary, Alberta. She worked with the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Learning Through the Arts program and taught art to children and adults in the evenings through a private Art Studio. With an interest in making art accessible to all, she served on the Calgary Public Art Board for two years until her relocation to Nova Scotia in 2019. My work concerns meditations of delicate and complex ecosystems with imagined or perceived boundaries such as ocean shorelines, wilderness areas and lake edges. I think about how these spaces are penetrated and how humankind and nature are entangled. |
