Made by Fukunishi papermakers, Fukunishi Sakura is a rare creation from a family renowned for their specialty washi made for use in scrolls and conservation projects. It uses 100% Japanese kozo fiber, bleached in river streams and cooked with wood ash. Sheets are hand-formed with noriutsugi (Hydrangea paniculata)formation aid, then dried on a wooden board. The subtle pink hue comes from the natural dye, using the bark of the Japanese Flowering Cherry (Prunus lannesiana) and alum mordant. Heritage Washi (HW).
