April 4, 2022, I will be exhibiting a body of work called lightness of being(s)
at the Anna Leonowens Gallery in Halifax Nova Scotia.
This exhibition is as partial fulfillment of the MFA degree with NSCAD University. lightness of being(s) is an unfolding exploration of complex ecosystems found at the edge of urban Halifax, within the Blue Mountain – Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness Area. Living next door to this wildlife refuge, Carrie Phillips Kieser traces the seasonal cycle of discovery, etching the delicately balanced worlds of botanicals found in its understories, wetlands and liminal lake edges. The continued revealing of this physical place is evoked through exquisite visual and literary expressions in the form of suspended prints and bound portfolios.
The exhibition will open on Monday April 4, 2022 at 5:30 - 7:00pm and will continue until April 16, 2022. Find the Anna at the NSCAD University on Granville Street.

unpunctuated
NSCAD MFA Group Exhibition January 18- February 11 2021 see the entire exhibition online here: https://unpunctuated.nscad.ca/ |
The NSCAD MFA group exhibition, unpunctuated, represents a diversity of practices and content during a time that leaves process and expectations open ended, not unfinished but ongoing – a reflection of the state of flux we all currently experience. As a continuing event, in multiple locations, unpunctuated demonstrates the ability of our practices to adapt and thrive in fluctuating circumstances, despite the obstacles of a pandemic. A story in the process of telling.

Loft 112
535 8 Ave S.E.Calgary Alberta
May 10 thru May 28, 2016
Closing RECEPTION: Thursday May 19, 2016, 7 – 9 pm
A recent body of work will be on the walls of Loft 112 for the month of May. Through the beginnings of a collaboration with Ceramic artist Laura Sharp around the initial idea of exploring the idea of "vessel" and a workshop at Crown Point Press a series of prints have emerged. A series of copper plates were created and interchangeably printed layering on top of each other to create a somewhat dense collection of information. The prints, ambiguously describes the open net work of a Japanese fishing buoy. Printed on gampi paper and embroidered with tiny stitching, they embody a sense of floating while being simultaneously slightly claustrophobic. The prints are paired with porcelain sculptural elements by Laura Sharp.
